Context

​

RateMyAgent (RMA) has claimed to be the first and #1 trusted online review platform tailored for real estate agents in Australia since 2019.

​

RMA provides a space for vendors/buyers to leave reviews for their real estate agents from real experience. The platform aims to provide genuine feedbacks to help the general public make the right decision when it comes to selecting a real estate agent to take care of their transaction.

​

Apart from that, RMA also offers subscription for real estate agents with paid online marketing tools to help automate multiple marketing campaigns to promote their profile & reviews everywhere on the web.

Work Summary

​

When i started in May 2019, RMA was at the early stage of entering the US market. As their products had been implemented since the start-up time, disconnection between features and inconsistency had led to many frictions from the user experience aspect. My job was to improve the UX/UI on the platform in general, design new solutions to respond to user needs, and help influence the team to understand and appreciate product design thinking process and its values. 

 

During my 2 years working at RMA, i have helped refine the member portal UI & develop new product features behind the log-in gate for real estate agents.​ 

 

My works cover multiple areas within the portal, such as: Listing Report, Social Media Manager, Dashboard & Linked Accounts. My goal was to get the team to follow a lean UX design process when developing new solutions, more testing and less assumptions.

​

Beside continuously improving the user experience on the existing features, i also proposed new solutions to simply frictional user flows, for instance:

  1. Linked Accounts: bringing all external connections into one place

  2. Context based onboarding flows to get users to key product values as quickly as possible

  3. Notification hub: reduce the amount of external communications such as emails & SMS, making sure users are on top of what is happening within their portal

  4. Re-deign to simplify UI, remove frictions for Social Media Manager

  5. Agent Award Hub: clearly inform users of upcoming events when the award night is coming soon. Users can easily find, download and promote their awards, or, simply find out how to win one.

  6. Subscription flows (upgrade/downgrade/cancel/freeze) and payment process made easy.

  7. Improve User Engagement with Gamification concept: increase in-portal communication via notifications and pop-up to engage users into a journey to become an unstoppable agent by suggesting next action to do and offer rewards when user achieved a certain milestone.

In addition, i also worked closely with the Product Manager and the rest of the team in various workshops to develop product strategy and report back to the stakeholders.
